The Wigan Athletic Bus has been in school, helping us with the launch of this very blog! The latics are with us for six sessions to teach us all about blogging and to help get the project started too. Also on board is Paul Hurst who is a professional journalist. He has been teaching us all about the IT side of things along with the journalistic side of how to write the content.

This new blog will enable you to access news, stories, reviews, interviews, advice, videos and much more! The blogging team is currently made up of around 20 students and we have all been asked by our Head Teacher, Miss Jerstice, to get involved and get creative too!

So what’s it like on the Wigan Athletic bus? Well as you can see, there’s lots of IT equipment on board with internet access which is provided via special mobile phone, handsets. This means we can get the work done without having to use the ICT facilities in school… It truly is mobile!

It’s great to see that St Peter’s is still at the cutting edge of IT. Back in 1986 I was one of a small pilot group of pupils who did the first GCSE in Information Technology. Of course things were a bit more basic back then. I even saw one of the BBC micros we used in a museum the other day! Keep up the good work St Peters and thanks for helping start me on career which still involves computing.
